Kate Steel
With over two decades of immersion in the sports industry, Kate has established herself as a multifaceted professional with a passion for driving athlete performance and wellbeing. Beginning as a dedicated teacher and coach, Kate has amassed extensive experience and insights into the intricacies of sports and team dynamics.
 
Driven by a quest for deeper understanding, Kate embarked on a transformative journey, retraining as a Sport and Exercise Psychologist. Currently in her second year of supervised practice (SEPiT) with The British Association of Sport and Exercise Sciences (BASES).  Kate merges practical expertise with academic rigour to enhance athlete mental resilience, wellbeing, and performance.
 
Kate’s academic journey traversed through Loughborough University, where she earned both undergraduate and master's degrees, laying a robust foundation for her scholarly pursuits. Presently, Kate is immersed in doctoral research at the University of South Wales, delving into the critical realm of wellbeing provision for elite athletes.
 
In the applied domain, Kate serves as a vital asset to the football performance squad as an applied practitioner (in training) with Loughborough University. Her impact extends across a spectrum of sports, including swimming, athletics, golf, and motorsport, notably including the prestigious British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).
 
Beyond sports, Kate collaborates with businesses, leveraging insights from the sports arena to enhance team dynamics and leadership. Her graduate memberships with the British Psychological Society (BPS) and BASES underscore her commitment to excellence and professionalism.
 
In essence, Kate embodies a unique blend of academic rigour, practical experience, and a genuine passion for enhancing performance and wellbeing across the sports landscape and beyond.
